Persona: Voice/Vision

Community discussion and individual exploration/action on the evolving world media network...
As communications technology gets more immediate and seamless, cultures move online and expand to fill available spaces. Click here for a brief discussion of some of the technologies that are facilitating this, and here for a look at some cultural spaces on the net.

Community/Context

Where are communities online? Although cyberspace tends to be non-geographical, we've included a piece on Vancouver, B.C, Canada, where we are located.

As part of an ongoing project on community networks, a set of surveys from over 30 community networks are now available. Community (computer) Networks are becoming increasingly important as people in communities all over the world begin developing them to address needs in their own community. Developers of community networks need to be able to find information and documents as well as people with whom they can discuss issues and concerns. These surveys are intended to help develop a "community memory" for community network developers.
