Oliver Hockenhull


Oliver Hockenhull's father flew bombing missions over Dresden. His mother is an abstract expressionist. Oliver is a writer, teacher, filmmaker, film theorist, and communications consultant. He is currently directing a documentary on Aldous Huxley.

He is also developing a software package for non-linear editing systems and broadcast interactivity based on formal, aesthetic principals of audio-visual language.

The project "The Majestic Violence of Light" that will demonstrate the software is seeking assistance.

Oliver has been commisioned to develop an artwork for this project called "Towards the Necessarily Furious Philosophy of the Discrete"

"A hopscotch of critical theory, new media research, and the interrogation of the aesthetics of the digital inscription played upon the canvas of language, power, and historical/political recollection."
